World Cup Entertainment Ideas

The football event of the summer will begin in just under a month as 32 teams from around the world convene on Russia for the World Cup. As happens every time England compete in a big tournament, all adverts will switch to being football related, the news will resemble this Mitchell & Webb sketch and yes, the events industry will also have a heavy focus on football themed ideas for a month. With this in mind, we thought we suggest a few that should at least raise a smile from even the most ardent hater of the beautiful game.

Football Freestylers

The ultimate in football entertainment, book football freestylers to wow your guests! You may well have seen the art of football freestyle on TV and even at halftime shows, where players show off their skills with a football. From doing keepie-uppies (is that the correct spelling?!) whilst sitting down, juggling multiple balls at once and more, football freestyle is a fascinating act and sure to raise a smile from those in attendance. If you’re thinking, “Yes but what would professional footballers think?” Thankfully, there’s video footage from sister agency Sternberg Clarke as the freestylers have even been booked for FIFA award shows.

Lookalikes

If you don’t want to go all in on a football theme but at least want to give a nod to the fact the World Cup is on, booking a lookalike is the easiest way to achieve your aims. You could go current by booking the famous Jamie Vardy lookalike or step into the past by booking David Beckham to attend. (NotĀ theĀ David Beckham unless you have friends in high places.) If you’re looking for lots of photos of your event to be shared on social media, lookalikes are excellent as guests often flock to them for a quick snap and a fast upload to Instagram or Twitter.

Giant Inflatable Table Football

In the US, table football is known as foosball but we’ve never quite been able to understand why. Despite the differences between the UK and the US, there is one thing both countries agree on and that is that no matter what you call the game, it is great fun! Now imagine that you can make the whole game bigger and that you and your guests can step in as the players. Wouldn’t that be fun? Thankfully such an inflatable exists! You’ll be strapped in to the game and only able to move left and right as you take on the opposition. Guaranteed to provide much hilarity, we highly recommend booking giant inflatable table football.

Acro-Chaps

Have you ever looked at acts of the past and wished they were still able to be booked today? Acro-Chaps are as close as you’re likely to get to Victorian strongmen and just wonderful as you might imagine. Ordinarily dressed in leotards, the trio often pull off amazing feats and accomplishments whilst showing off their stunning facial hair and natural charm for guests. Their football-themed get-up includes vintage football kits and perhaps an old leather ball under the arm before they ignore the game entirely and focus on what they do best – acro-balance, lifting guests into the air and posing for photos. Ruddy marvellous, what what?

Russian Entertainment

With the World Cup being played in Russia, you don’t only have to look for something football themed for your event. There is also the possibility for booking Russian entertainment instead with Russian dancers being the most straightforward booking for an event or party in the UK. Unsure how else to celebrate the Russian connection? You could also make sure that your food has a Russian vibe to it with borscht or beef stroganoff sure to go down well with your party guests. As for the drink? Vodka is perhaps the most obvious option!

When it comes to booking entertainment for an event during the World Cup, we highly recommend booking something football related. That being said, if you opt to go in a different direction, we feel that your party will definitely benefit if there is a television nearby (especially when England play!)
