Our History

1947

The founders of Trevor George Entertainments, Billie and Trevor George, meet for the first time. Billie is a London actress, and Trevor a magician living in Cornwall.

1953

Billie and Trevor make their debut as a double act at Torquay’s Livermead Cliff Hotel.

1958

The pair develop a nationally acclaimed mentalism and mind reading act, appearing before Spanish royalty, Princess Margaret, Prince Charles, the Duke of Edinburgh, prime ministers and a host of others.

1958

Billie and Trevor gain even wider recognition when they accept a challenge to read the minds of people on the shore from well-known cruise liner “The Princess Elizabeth”.

1959

Trevor George Entertainment commences trading, winning contracts for casting and directing summer season theatre shows in many seaside towns along the south coast and later also in the north, midlands and home counties.

1964

The agency establishes an office base in central Torquay with the opening attended by many influential directors, theatre managers, venue proprietors and some of the principal acts of the agency.

1960s

Trevor George Entertainments are appointed sole booking agents for the 5 star Imperial Hotel in the resort and many other prestigious venues.

1960s

The agency works with many stars of the day including Charlie Chester, Ruby Murray, Sandy Powell, Tommy Trinder, Donald Peers, Julie Rogers, Little and Large and Vince Eager.

1970s

Billie and Trevor expand their theatre circuit and produce a number of national touring variety shows, Olde Tyme Music Hall productions and pantomimes.

1974

Billie and Trevor’s daughter Anne, now a highly successful magician and illusionist, is presented with the “Craig Trophy” USA, a top award by the International Brotherhood of magicians in 1974.
1980s

1980s

The agency become well known for discovering and managing the early careers of Gary Wilmot, Michael Barrymore, Joe Pasquale and Andrew O’Connor among others.
1995

1995

Anne George joins the agency, becoming managing director in 1997.

2016

Trevor George Entertainments merges with leading London entertainment agency, Sternberg Clarke to offer unrivalled choice and expertise for corporate and private events across the country.
