Trevor George Christmas Showcase @ Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel

We know it’s September but who doesn’t want to celebrate Christmas three months early? With exactly 100 sleeps to go until Christmas, we decided to raise the roof in Bristol with a festive themed party – the Trevor George Christmas Showcase. Featuring a host of acts including Father Christmas himself, it was a fantastic evening that everybody enjoyed. A huge thanks to the venue and the Event Organisers Network for their help, and of course to Paul Gillis for his sensational photos.

To maximise the fun, the Trevor George Christmas showcase was split into two sections – the drinks reception and after party as well as the show itself. Why did we do this? The answer is that there was just so much entertainment to enjoy! With this in mind, we decided to feature strolling and ambient acts both before and after the show whilst the ‘headline’ acts were saved for the stage.

Who’s who amongst all of these photos? It’s time for a deep breath as we run through each and every act you may be able to see throughout this blog. First up, guests absolutely loved our host, Danny McLoughlin, the magic of Kaleb and of course our brand new acoustic act the Roaming Rogues. When it came to dance and circus, we were delighted to be able to also feature LED Ballerinas at the Christmas showcase alongside some digi-poi, a form of circus entertainment where twirling a baton results in an image being revealed. As you can see in the photos, we opted for our logo but you can literally choose anything from snowflakes to Christmas trees and more.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the addition of some truly festive characters. Bearing that in mind, not only had we managed to convince Santa Claus himself, Father Christmas to attend (September isn’t his busiest month), but we also had two of his helpers, Holly & Ivy, as well. Eagle-eyed readers may also have spotted a polar bear; do not panic for this is actually an animatronic polar bear, which moves and feels exactly like the real thing. Amazing! How best to get a photo with this lovable lot? Thanks to the folks at Happy Donut, with a photo booth/gif booth of course!

Between this smorgasbord of delights mentioned above? The Trevor George Christmas Showcase show of course. While it may not be the snappiest of titles, it does explain exactly what guests would be able to enjoy. First up was the snow globe, an act of such beauty that we did not envy the performers going next. As it transpired, we need not have worried because the dancers involved in a Gatsby performance was utterly transfixing; perfect for those who want to go with a vintage Christmas feel at their party this year.

Hannah’s incredible contortion act was up next; one of the finest contortionists in the country, she can achieve moves that nobody else can do! This was swiftly followed by the gifted singing of Naomi and LED Hula Hoop, two acts that flow together superbly well. The LED ballerinas were then able to swap their ambient entertainment for the stage with a lovely Christmas number before the final act of the night, Shakedown, brought the Trevor George Christmas Showcase show (what a mouthful – sorry) to an end with their blend of bar flair and circus tricks.

What a tremendous night in Bristol it was and we really do appreciate the efforts from everyone involved. From the performers to Paul Gillis for his photos and of course to Franco from the Event Organisers Network and Lindsey at the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel, we are so grateful for your work and we cannot wait to work together again in the future. Perhaps at a Christmas party in December?
