Happy November, everyone! Halloween’s out of the way, you’ve probably blown up all your fireworks, so all that’s left to look forward to is the inexorable march of Christmas with its mopey ads about… I dunno, a sad little gingerbread man who can’t find a gingerbread wife, set to a maudlin piano version of Mr Brightside.
But it’s not only a new month; it’s a new week, and that means we’ve got three brand new acts on our website, all ready and raring to go for events, weddings and private parties.
NEE-ON (LED DANCE TROUPE)
Remember Tron? Of course not, no one actually does. Remember Legacy? Perhaps, if you were one of the 20-something people that went to see it. Tron (and its sequel) hold a peculiar place as hugely influential pop culture touchstones that barely anyone has any strong feelings about, beyond ‘hey, I liked the costumes, and lightbikes are cool!’ Well the good news is, thanks to Nee-on, we’ve got one of those things available to hire for events. The bad new is, it’s not the cool bikes.
GINGER LA ROUGE (BURLESQUE PERFORMER)
With acts including ‘The Champagne Glass’, ‘The Flapper Girl’, ‘The Fan Dance’ and ‘The Magician’, Manchester-based burlesque sensation Ginger La Rouge has more stage personas than the late, great David Bowie. Sadly none of those stage personas are Jareth the Goblin King delivering some kind of Labyrinth-themed burlesque show to the strains of Magic Dance… another song that’s probably ripe for a maudlin piano cover on a Christmas ad.
JAMES (MAGICIAN)
Charming young trickster James is already following in the footsteps of his uncle – legendary entertainer Paul Daniels – and making a name for himself as one of the most exciting magicians around. We have a no doubt that you’ll be seeing much more of James at upcoming events.
