It’s not only a new week, nor is it only a new month: it’s a whole gosh dang year. So while each week we normally share three new acts that we’ve added to our website, this week, we’re really pushing the boat out, really starting 2018 with a bang, really mixing things up with – get this – four acts.
SOUTHWEST BAND
While their name might suggest a band from the South West; SouthWest Band are, in fact, from Yorkshire. South West Yorkshire? Don’t know, they didn’t say. What they did say, however, was that they’re an experienced and accomplished function band who’ve been raising the roof at weddings and events all over the UK. We looked into it, and their story checks out.
THE SWITCH
While their name might suggest Nintendo’s latest video game console and much sought-after Christmas gift; The Switch are, in fact *adjusts glasses* an innovative combination of live music act and LED laser show. Using specially created LED instruments, the band perform eye-popping stage shows and DJ sets that are as toe-tapping as they are visually arresting.
MALI & ME
While their name might suggest a loving tribute to the 2008 Jennifer Anniston / Owen Wilson dog-based romantic comedy; Mali & Me are, in fact, a piano-vocal duo that rarely (if ever) involves a single pooch. With a shared love for pop, soul and RnB, the pair offer sleek, stripped back arrangements of crowd-pleasing tunes that are perfect for hotel and restaurant residencies.
CARL (DJ)
While the name might suggest a man named Carl; Carl is, in fact, a DJ named Carl. As such, Carl offers a floor-filling mix of chart tunes and mashups, taking in music across a wide range of genres.
