Manchester Showcase Lineup

With less than a fortnight to go till our showcase at the Lowry Hotel, we’re pleased to be able to announce some details of the amazing lineup of entertainment for the evening.

We’ve come together with Fisher AV and the events team at The Lowry Hotel to prove that an event is a blank canvas for your imagination. There’ll be plenty of surprises in store for the evening, but we couldn’t resist giving you a preview of some of the acts confirmed for the event:

Dapper chaps and bonafide strolling sensations, Wandering Hands have taken the events world by storm with their unplugged entertainment concept. Using nothing but acoustic instruments and soaring harmonies, this talented trio roam around the venue whipping guests into a frenzy with some sensational cover versions. Expect plenty of singalongs and even a bit of dancing.

The four brothers that make up String Fever bill themselves as “The World’s First Genetically Modified String Quartet”, and considering the level of talent in this family, you’d have to admit the title fits. Taking guests on a full throttle tour through music history, this hilarious cabaret show is quite unlike any string ensemble you’ve ever seen before.

A new addition to the Trevor George family, Megan is a brilliant vintage vocalist who delivers a retro twist on modern pop tunes with her inventive song arrangements and sumptuously smoky vocals. We’re looking forward to hearing Megan’s unique take on the hits of artists from Daft Punk to The Beatles, and we’re sure she’s going to go down a storm.

No showcase would be complete without a few laughs, and comedian Pete Otway is just the man to deliver them. A finalist at the BBC New Comedy Award in 2012, Pete’s since gone on to earn rave reviews, gigging up and down the country and performing a well received show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Blessed with a quick wit and no shortage of excellent material, we can’t wait to introduce him to the audience at The Lowry Hotel.

At Trevor George, we’re all about unusual, unexpected entertainment and Ulrike is the perfect example. This twinkle-toed circus star practices the weird and wonderful art of foot juggling, using hoops, tubes and umbrellas to put on a truly unique display of fancy footwork. Ulrike’s one of a kind act has seen her travel the world, working with some of the biggest names in modern circus so we’re thrilled to have her on board for our show in Manchester.

We always like to give our guests a royal welcome, and over the years we’ve found that there’s no better way to do that than with the inimitable Royal Footmen. These gifted physical comedians greet guests in full Regency-era costumes, complete with powdered wigs and makeup. Think Blackadder the Third and you’re on the right track.

There’s still time to secure your place at the showcase, just send an email to gaia@trevorgeorge.co.uk

We’ll reveal more of the lineup closer to the date so stay tuned!
