Glow Show, Wandering Hands and our iPad Caricaturist absolutely wowed guests at the Science and Industry Museum last night. With the summer over, guests were only too happy to let their hair down and enjoy an evening away from the Bake Off at this most spectacular of venues!
When we were contacted by our friends at the Guidelines International Network, they were looking for something fun and uplifting to welcome guests to their annual conference in Manchester. When it comes to this sort of event, we are well aware that not only is about having a good time but also networking and making friendships that will hopefully last for your entire career. With this in mind, we wanted entertainment that would stroll throughout the venue ensuring that each act would act as a perfect icebreaker for those in attendance who might not know where to look or who to speak to!
Our Glow Show artist Jago was a huge hit with attendees as they arrived. Performing his incredibly visual act – he was quite literally forming the word ‘WELCOME’ in the air with his lights – it was clear to see that early arrivals were instantly impressed and ready for an entertaining evening of drinks, canapés and chatter. Jago was also on hand later in the evening to continue his performances indoors, where the lights would change to form the logo of the venue and many more spectacular images. We have no idea how it works but presumably the Science and Industry Museum could shed some information on the physics behind the act!
As everybody who has ever been to a party will know, music is an absolute must or else you’re essentially standing in a large room with nothing to break up the talking! Step forward everybody’s favourite strolling band Wandering Hands who are hugely popular throughout the UK. Performing at corporate events, private parties and events three or four times a week (and sometimes even more than that!), they are the ‘go-to’ act when it comes to having a good time.
It’s all well and good enjoying an evening when you’re there but how will you remember the occasion going forward? There are a whole host of wonderful entertainment options for providing a memory from an event or party including a photo booth or silhouette artist, but we thought we’d pay an homage to the idea that entertainment is becoming more high-tech by providing one of our fantastic digital caricaturists. Working with an iPad (well, a tablet that better suits the art), our hugely talented illustrators are able to walk around the venue drawing guests and instantly emailing them to their chosen inbox for use online. What could be more impressive than that? No more lugging a paper caricature around with you at an event, oh no!
It really was a superb evening of entertainment at the G-I-N 2018 and we wish all delegate a tremendous few days at the Principal Manchester! We absolutely adored providing acts to the Science and Industry Museum and cannot wait to return.
