Event Entertainment Ideas in Hull

As the UK’s Capital of Culture for 2017, there’s lots going on in Hull this year. From art to theatre, music to exhibitions, there’s an explosion of culture in celebration of the city that Philip Larkin, Anthony Minghella and The Housemartins call home.

If you’re planning a corporate event, wedding or private party in Hull, there are plenty of entertainment options to help make it an unforgettable occasion. Here are just a few of our favourite performers from the Yorkshire area for events in Hull.

RUTH GETZ (VINTAGE VOCALIST)

With her sultry tones and retro repertoire, Ruth has been delighting event audiences with an impeccable vintage vocal act. Perfect for weddings with a vintage feel, or events at period venues, Ruth has a real knack for transporting guests back in time through her music.

Perfect Hull venue: Maybe it’s because we’ve heard her rendition of Beyond the Sea, but we can’t help imagining Ruth performing at Hull’s much loved aquarium, The Deep.

CITRON PRESSE (JAZZ DUO)

Citron Presse’s sleek cocktail jazz is a welcome addition to any drinks reception or corporate event. Their light, upbeat sound brilliantly sets the mood for conversation, providing a breezy musical backdrop in which guests can relax and unwind.

Perfect Hull venue: Built in the 1920’s, Ferens Art Gallery is the perfect place to enjoy Citron Presse’s smooth, sophisticated jazz.

RICH (MAGICIAN)

Rich is a brilliant young close-up magician with a life-long passion for magic. As a natural showman with an easy-going demeanor, Rich is able to quickly win over guests and put them at ease – a great talent to have for corporate events and weddings.

Perfect Hull venue: The soon-to-be-opened Doubletree by Hilton Hull will no doubt become a great spot for corporate events and drinks receptions; perfect for a magician like Rich.

ALLIGATOR GUMBO (NEW ORLEANS STYLE JAZZ)

With a flexible lineup and an unmistakable love for the music they make, Alligator Gumbo’s infectious energy never fails to win over a crowd.

Perfect Hull venue: Hull’s jazz-lovers will be more than familiar with independent café bar Pave, so it’s easy to imagine Alligator Gumbo going down a storm at this great locally-owned venue.
